Our ongoing commitment

Rotary is a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds can exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotarians have not only been present for major events in history—we’ve been a part of them. From the beginning, three key traits have remained strong throughout Rotary:

  • We’re truly international. Only 16 years after being founded, Rotary had clubs on six continents. Today we’re working together from around the globe both digitally and in-person to solve some of our world’s most challenging problems.

  • We persevere in tough times. During WWII, Rotary clubs in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Japan were forced to disband. Despite the risks, many continued to meet informally and, following the war’s end, Rotary members joined together to rebuild their clubs and their countries.

  • Our commitment to service is ongoing. We began our fight against polio in 1979 with a project to immunize 6 million children in the Philippines. By 2012, only three countries remain polio-endemic—down from 125 in 1988.
Become a member
Are you an established professional wanting to make a positive impact? Rotary membership can be one of the most fulfilling decisions that you can make and our club is always interested in meeting potential new members who share our passion for community service and friendship.

The act of giving back, or doing good in the world, is common to all Rotarian’s but there’s also untold individual benefit that we gain from our local participation.

The best way to find out if Rotary is for you is to come along to one of our Wednesday morning meetings—let’s chat, we’ll answer any questions you have, and you’ll start to get a picture of what your Rotary involvement could look like.

Becoming a Rotarian enables you to:
  • connect with professionals who share your drive to give back
  • discuss community needs and discover creative ways to meet them
  • expand your leadership and philanthropic skills
  • catch up with good friends and meet new ones
  • join leaders, exchange ideas and take action
Volunteer
Our Rotary members are hard at work behind-the-scenes in our community right now. We use our knowledge of local issues to identify areas of need, then apply our expertise and diverse perspectives to the problem.

In addition to calling upon our membership, we also mobilise school groups, businesses, and community groups. We’re involved with planting days, fundraising events, youth development, and more.

You can get involved, and do good, even if you’re not ready to take on the commitment of becoming a Rotarian. Make yourself known to us (by attending a meeting or engaging with one of our members) and we’ll tag you in to the next event or project that fits with your skills or capabilities.
Donate
You can contribute by donating to The Rotary Foundation.

Rotary is committed to taking on some of the world's most pressing challenges. When you give to Rotary, you support the work we do in your community and around the world. You are fueling our service projects - such as eradicating polio, training future peacemakers, providing clean water and sanitation, and strengthening local economies.

Your generosity can save a life. A child can be protected from polio with as little as 60 cents. And our partners make your donation go even farther—for every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation commits $2.

We are a 4 star charity (Charity Navigator’s highest level) with 90.8% of donations directly supporting our service projects.
