The Salvation Army in East City has been humbled by a generous donation of $10,000 received from the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay. Corps Officer, Major Joanne Wardle, presented the Club President, Peter Bailey, with a certificate of appreciation. This donation has been used to help fund our Family Experience, which brings families and individuals from all walks of life together and creates a fun and meaningful experience through fellowship, friendship and hospitality, and also to purchase goods for the food parcels.
This year has seen a higher demand for our food bank service with many people experiencing unemployment, often for the first time in their lives.
If other groups or individuals would like to take up the opportunity to give, donations can be made at The Salvation Army East City located at 39-45 Wellington Street, Howick on Wednesdays to Fridays from 10.30am to 2pm, or by contacting us 09 535 0847.
Alternatively, you can also support our car boot sales which we run every second Saturday at our church hall. ‘Rent’ a stall or come and bag a bargain.
If anyone is interested in knowing more about Rotary, please contact Peter Bailey.
