On Wednesday 14 October we will have our first evening meeting for this Rotary Year. We will be dining at BBYC in the main function room.

Our speaker will be Mitchel Pham. Mitchell first shot to fame when TV One ran a series on individuals that had risen above great hardship and made a significant impact in our community. Mitchell's episode chronicled his journey from a childhood refugee to NZ from South East Asia to a successful IT entrepreneur and leader in NZ, and on the global stage.

Very recently he was honoured to be appointed to Asia Society’s Global Council, where he is in great company, standing alongside former New Zealand Ambassador to the United States, MP and Minister of Trade, Tim Grosser, who served on the Council for a decade from 2005. In Mitchell's words; "For me, networking is as natural and as integral to who I am as breathing. It makes sense to me both personally and professionally — and it always has. Genuine human-to-human connections enrich your knowledge and skills, your understanding of culture and place and your ability to do business, influence others and get things done. More importantly, they extend your friend and whānau circle beyond your own front door step. That really appeals to me as someone motivated by relationships and achieving goals through collaboration."

This promises to be an amazing evening of friendship, networking and inspiration.
